I've read a few posts on the lists on how people have integrated 4D / Webstar / Active4D.
I'm not 100% sure of the advantages of doing this.
Would someone who has done this explain the benefits of putting Webstar into the mix.

Great question. There are three main reasons to run 4D WebSTAR V with Active4D:
1. Added Security
You can use all of WebSTAR's realm protection and SSL features to make sure your back-end database is protected.
2. Single domain serving
WebSTAR can handle a variety of request types, allowing you to have a single online presence (e.g. www.mybrand.com) and, if really needed, to serve other types of dynamic data
3. Performance
You can serve images and other static data from WebSTAR, which is well known for its performance, allowing 4th Dimension to focus on queries and data source manipulation.
For anyone who is interested, you can download a demo from our <http://www.4D.com/products/webstar/trialdownload>. It is fully functional, so you can test out all the features. It just runs for 2 hours at a time instead of indefinitely and the Mail server is limited to 10 users.
