Sounds interesting, Jeff. The system needs to store questions and
answers, and some categories. Would one concatenate all the
information into one text field for each record (i.e. question,
answer, categories ...) and use that field to search? Or can search
across multiple text fields (quickly)?

An additional idea is to use Genro Clusters.

This effectively indexes every word in your text documents, and then
you can search with very fast results. It is installed in minutes.

Contact me if you think it would be useful.

_______________

Examples:

Text query may contain one or more words and special chars :

For example

"cat AND dog"

"cats AND dogs AND horses"

"cats OR dogs OR horses"

"cats OR dogs AND horses"

"cats OR dogs NOT horses"

"Cat AND dog OR moon AND soon NOT sky" will be evaluated as "(Cat AND
dog) OR (moon AND soon NOT sky)"

So you can mix AND , OR, NOT clause. AND and NOT have higher precedence.

NOT stands for AND_NOT.

You can also use & | # instead of AND OR NOT

You can also use :

"Dave Batton AND 4D Today OR Mike Vogt AND Millenium Data Services"
In this case in your selection you have only "Dave Batton" and not
"Dave Brown" or "Mark Batton"
