I notice from reviewing your demo that you often use:
redirect(fusebox.makeURL($XFA_xxx; $query))
where I typically use:
fusebox.SendFuseaction("DistrictLeaveCodes.Save"; $fusebox;
$evaluatedCollection)
.
Is there a significant difference?
Slight difference...
Redirect reloads the entire page with a new url.
sendFuseaction executes a fuseaction within the context of the
current page.
