$format := "{0,number,###0.00}"
$test := "12345"
<%= ($format %% ($test) %>

- I'll assume the extra open parens on the third line is a typo.
- If you use "number" in the format, the argument has to be a number. Active4D doesn't parse the format string, so I can't do type conversion for you.
- You don't need parens around the arguments if there is only one.

$test := 12345
<%= $format %% $test %>

OR

<%= $format %% num($test) %>
