Hi

I'm having an encoding issue which is a little bit elusive.

A hidden field has the UK pound sign (£) encoded in a web form as £"

The form submission method is set to 'Get' (I can't remember why I did this. It was possibly to circumvent some issue I found in Windows IE 5 where you could never use the back button after a form submission without Windows IE delivering a grey security page and getting into an endless looop).

Well what happens now (with Windows IE 7 only - all other browsers are fine) is that when the form is submitted, we get an Active 4D error of 400 - 'The request could not be fulfilled because it was not properly formatted'.

When I inspect the URL query parameters captured in the On Request handler, I see that the pound sign has arrived ok, but some strange control character has been inserted in front of it.

When I view the Windows IE 7 address bar after the form submission, I also notice that the control character is there - as a capital A- circumflex.

I'm continuing to investigate this issue but if it lights a bulb for anyone I'd be grateful for any tips.

Best Regards

Peter
