Keep-it-up or launchd? I've use the former since before OSX.
Keep-it-up works well but I'd rather use launchd if I can.

I already use Simon to monitor about 20 different resources (web
servers, applications, routers), but I use if from another
unattended machine. I actually use launchd on the Simon machine to
make sure it is always running. Setting that up was straightforward
using a utility call Lingon (unfortunately no longer supported, see
http://sourceforge.net/projects/lingon/files/).

I'm not exactly sure how one would configure launchd to check if 4D
Remote is running but launch a path file to restart it if it is not.
I use the path file because this is on an unattended machine and the
web client runs as a certain user.

Currently 4D Client will run for months at a time but does
occasionally crash.
