Tom,
I've definitely got it working using XML to define the grid and json data to
populate the grid. To overcome a temporary obstacle I used Active4D's set
content type("text/xml"), set content type("application/json") instead of
using "set response header" command.
My post was asking Aparajita for a map definition feature so that I could
use addSelection with a map dynamically created from elements in the xml
grid definition. He pointed me to startObject, startArray, endArray,
endObject pairs. I'm now going in that direction and including in it the
options for variable data from related tables, or from methods stored in 4D.
I like simple, beautiful, elegant... My coding is a little less simple
not-using addSelection, but the recommendation seems like the way to go for
now. (thanks Aparajita!)
This new work has to be tested, but I'm confident......
Thanks,
David
