Active4D is definitely encoding it correctly. If it looks weird in the browser, 
it's probably because you are using ISO-8859-1 encoding and non-ASCII 
characters encoded in UTF-8 will get garbled. If you looked at the raw data 
it's correct.

As to what the iPhone needs, you will have to ask the programmer exactly what 
encoding he needs.
