Aparajita, jQuery has no paid support. My first need using jQuery ajax goes un-met. The forum with a million users has no responders to my question about invalid argument. With jQuery I was trying to post a form using ajax and not serialize the data into the url. I posted the code and the resulting error message - no takers.
Otoh, my javascript ajax is working great! I don't know that will always be the case due to url length limitations. My earlier problem was not including the name/value pairs in the .send. I was avoiding this trying to post a form. I did spend hours searching for examples on how to post a form with ajax. The scant references and examples are ambiguous. Most point to jQuery. As of this moment it appears jQuery does not work for what I was trying to do. I personally would rather try to debug jQuery's obstacle than a hand-rolled ajax request. There are only about 1 million jQuery users out there who can help you overcome that other obstacle.
