"For security reasons, all paths are checked to ensure they are either within the web root directory or within one of the directories specified by the “safe doc dirs” option in Active4D.ini. Aliases are resolved prior to checking. If you want to use document commands on files outside of the root directory, you must add the directory path to the “safe doc dirs” path list in Active4D.ini." The web root itself is outside the web root -- it's in its parent directory. So you can't ask for the list of the root unless you add the web root to "safe doc dirs".
