to be perfectly honest, there should be no further effort put into the meego

I understand that.
I admit I was being a bit egocentric there: I needed a working devel system on my Wetab in order to track the newest developments for feedback and for extracting HIGs. Currently, however the Mer and Meego images each have their own critical bugs/problems which keep me from testing central PA applications, so I just cried for help to get _any_ of them running, withg Meego seeming to be the easier one atm. But I understand that our very limited development/bugfixing resources should be concentrated on one system, and that is of course Mer.

the issues on ExoPC / WeTab should be enumerated and worked through with Mer
developers. this will give us a "MeeGo + 1" across all targets that we can
work with.

Makes sense, yes. And probably some of the bugs (like missing udisks, for example, and probably the Nepomuk-related issues as well) affect any target.
Plus I'm eager to get rid of Meego as well, since it's just... well... dead ;)
So I'll install Mer again and help analyzing the problems there (I wish I could also help fixing them, but I haven't gotten around to learning C++ yet).

Cheers,
Thomas
