Hi all,
those days i was refining the notifications/jobs applet used in active for
pa3, and i noted that there is very little missing for being a perfect drop-in
replacement for the desktop c++ one.

right now it looks like:
http://wstaw.org/m/2012/09/06/plasma-desktopD25589.png

of course has comically big buttons and on desktop would probably need other
stuff like being able to select text of notifications with the mouse.
this means it would probably need to have completely different delegates for
representing a job/notification between desktop/mobile, but hey "we have the
technology"(tm)

other things still missing are:
* the detailed view in jobs
* support for actions
* extenders: no, they won't be back ;)

My proposal is:
copy the applet in a branch of kde-workspace (pa3 will still use the one in
plasma-mobile, will switch after release of kde-workspace 4.10)
add the missing features, merge in time for 4.10

Now, i know there is some work cooking for improvements on notifications, but
this new applet being qml will be way easier to adapt (even if some day just
for example the ui won't be a plasmoid but something like the widget explorer,
the very same code can be used anyways) so the work shouldn't be in conflict.

opinions? comments?

Cheers,
Marco Martin
