Hi all, Last days i tried to test various aspects of the current image and noted down what seemed the most serious ones.
here is a list that being quite big seems quite scary, but can be broken down in simpler points and simpler tasks quite easily. some of the problems (like those != from nepomuk ones) can be easily taken from anyone i think, so what i would like to see happening the next days is: * people testing those issues on their images, to see if they are reproduceable by everybody/ still valid * discussing the problems, breaking them down to very simple tasks, and hopefully some people can take some simple problems, as good, introductory junior job tasks for starting hacking around plasma active also, i want to pretty much close features for pa4 (except maybe one or two, we can talk about what they could be), giving all priority to stabilization. Boot * hackish, should use completely systemd, or at least the systemd module package not being called "nemo-mobile-session" (problem in mer) Nepomuk/activities * the default activity doesn't seem to come up with the two default linked resources * impossible to add resource to an activity, partially reproducible on a desktop build (seems kjobs don't get auto started anymore upon creation, very weird) * the model doesn't see connected resources until next boot, tough seems nepomuk not emitting added/removed signals * all those issues are connected to two recent commits in nepomuk-core, reference: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313035 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313036 Panel: * invisible kmix and nepomuk icons, seems on ly on the first boot * networkmanager nags with kwallet creation/allow app in the first run Launcher * since is a runner, the order gets changed after launching items, their weight changes * konsole icon enabled by default * new icon that shouldn't be there, "Import wizard" from kdepim Development settings * impossible to show the mouse: X started with nocursor from Mer Keyboard * if crashes (never happened) or gets killed, will restart without kniwing where to fetch plasma components * Very old problem: some text fields lose focus when clicking on a button: probably due to touchscreen driver problems that delivers some unwanted click, problem was masked when the keyboard masked input from the whole screen SLC * all nepomuk related services don't work (add to activities sometimes) Applications Broken applications due to upgrades * all kdepim: akonadi crashes on start * alarms: affected by akonadi as well * networkmanager is invisible in the panel (has been ported to qml, seems a parse error, talking with Lamarque) File Browser * Difficult to drag and drop (toolbar drop targets are very small) * drop to trash doesn't work (always error message) News reader * always loads as "desktop" (must be ported to new device specific ui framework) Bangarang * seems to work, but should be replaced by plasma mediacenter Active addons * nags with kwallet creation/allow application in the first run (same as networkmanager) -- Marco Martin _______________________________________________ Active mailing list Active@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/active
