We have many sites all connected about in a star pattern.

The 'center' of the star can ping each of the other sites and replicates

with each.

One of the outer sites cannot ping 2 of the other sites, but it can ping and

replicate with the 'center' site.

We've setup site links to force replication to travel only between the

center and each outer site.

But the problem outer site gives us KCC errors ( 1311 and 1566 )because it

wants to communicate with the to sites it cannot ping. why? If there is no

site link between them why does the problem site still try to connect to the

to sites it cannot ping?

I've checked out Q214745

<http://support.Microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q214/7/45.ASP> , Q271997

<http://support.Microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q271/9/97.ASP> , Q244368

<http://support.Microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q244/3/68.ASP> and

eventid.net

I hope all that made sense. maybe I'm way off expecting the 'center' site to

replicate the data for the outer sites.

Thanks,jb
