Do you have a cert from a third party that you want to use?  In addition to what Aaron says below, you can import a third party cert and use it with LDAP.

We use the LDIFDE utility for importing users into our domain.  This allows us to set the password and to automate our account maintenance.
 
 
The steps that I went through to solve this is:
  1. Install the High Encryption pack on both client and server.
  2. Install Certificate Services on a Domain Controller.
  3. Use the procedure from the above mentioned article to request a Domain Controller Certificate for your Domain Controllers.
  4. Once this accomplished, you should be able to do LDAP over SSL.

I have a big problem with SSL and Active Directory. I try to connect to active directory with LDAP over a SSL connection. The problems are the certificates. I don't know how to create a certificate for Active Directory LDAP service...
