Presuming the servers are in the same org, the PF RA will replicate the public folder 
directory information into the Active Directory so clients will see all public folders 
regardless of their location (5.5 or 2k). 
If you need to replicate between orgs you'll need to look at the interorg utilities on 
the resource kit.
