The more reliable method is to run NTDSUTIL and select the "Clean metadata" (similar option). That ensures you get all the orphaned bits out of the directory.

I f you can get it back on line temporaily I'd run DCPROMO on it to make it a member server then remove from the domain.

 

If not - - I'd

Remove it from AD Users and Comp   THEN  

Install ADSIEdit on the other DC and remove any remnants of it from there as well.

Hello evr.
I had two domain controler in my W2K network. One DC crashed. There were not any FSMO role only GC.  I want to clear the second DC fom AD. What is the best solution.
