If it's running as a service using a local machine account then that account will go when you run dcpromo so you will need to change the service account (and then reverse the process when you go back to not being a DC)

I work for a small company and do not have WAN replication. (LAN only)  We need to make a SQL server a domain controller for a month.  The version is Pervasive SQL 2000.  Does anyone know of any known issues or problems?
