I'd be interested in hearing what justification someone might have used, but Ihave used the tools pretty much since they were available to us in the Windows Server 2003 beta - which I suspect was better than a year ago.  I've had absolutely NO problem with the tools in a pure Windows 2000 environment, or my mixed 2k / 2k3 environment at home.

I had someone tell me that it was not “safe” to run the 2k3 tools against a 2k domain, is this true or is it just a matter of opinion?  Sorry if this has been brought up before…

I think if you have a beta or full release of 2003 server you can install adminpak.msi on XP and have your tools there.
