I personally just recommend changing ms-ds-machineaccountquota. You can
script the change so if dealing with multiple domains it is easy, plus
you don't have to dork around with a GPO.

I'm curious why you take the extra step of changing the default 
value?  Just extra cautious or is limiting it via the User Right not
reliable?
