Several Windows 2003 Servers have been joined to my
domain after operating properly independently. After joining the domain
they cannot resolve names properly. Infact they cannot even ping
localhost?! Pinging by name doesn't work. Pinging by IP works.
NSlookups work! The DNS server did not change, only the domain membership
of the computer changed and there user profile for a new user in the domain is
created. I looked at GPO's, the only one that affects this machine is very
simple and it has only loopback processing enabled.
ipconfig looks right, dns server seems fine, dns
settings seem fine, netsh diag gui seems fine. Can anyone help me diagnose
this name resolution problem?
