Well, not really. On a COMPAQ machine, SCSI controllers check for devices attached to them and if you don’t have any devices on those controllers, you will get that message – and this is common for machines that use a separate RAID controller. The RAID controllers have their own check (spinning / \ - characters) on a Compaq machine. If you are using a RAID controller, you should check with the RAID setup to see if devices are attached, etc.
