We are moving to AD in January. We currently have two
domains. One domain has exchange 5.5 and most of the user accounts, the
other has the rest of the user accounts. We will be using an empty root domain for political
reasons. Once we have our basic upgrade completed we are going to create
additional domains and sites. We’ll then divide up the users by
geographical area (new domains). My question is: We’re going to upgrade the exchange to 2003 using the
move mailboxes method. My inclination is to upgrade the exchange servers
before moving them or the user accounts into the new domains. Ultimately
the exchange boxes will be moved into the domain that the serve. Does this make sense or would things be easier if we created
the domains, moved the 5.5 boxes and their users before upgrading? Thanks much for any advice. Katherine Ogden Network
