Many:

1. When you run DCPromo, it disables write-back caching by default making a potential performance hit to other applications, even if the server is failure tolerant with backup power etc on the controllers.
2. Point of failure.

3. Performance in general of two database servers (in effect) running on one machine.

3. Did I mention point of failure?

Joe: Honestly you shouldn't install Exchange or any back offfice products on domain controllers.
