The dcpromo for both of these boxes has been successful. One of these boxes has been set up to have the Global Catalog but this fails, I get the following Event ID's in the Directory Services event log: 1559, 1578, 1809, 1110. The event ID 1559 refers to a domain called PUBLIC.COM. Apparently this domain was created in error by a bored support guy, who then in his wisdom trashed the server without demoting it. All I want to do is delete this domain so the GC will load correctly but I do not get the option to delete this domain in AD Domains and Trusts. I would appreciate any suggestions.
