Yes anything you move into the folder will be compressed while in the folder.

That is probably what I will do. We move files into this folder constantly and archive for customers each month. If we move files into this directory, it will compress them automatically correct?

Any reason why you don't just set the folder properties to compressed and just always have it compressed?
