Noah,
Your options are pretty limited if you don't have access to WU, WUS or SUS. The options really do come down to applying each patch, potentially rebooting between each of the patches. If you don't reboot, you run into a potential issue in which the bits from patch A are over-written by patch B, but Patch A had the more recent, and very dependent, bits. QChain is the tool that is designed to assist with this problem in a batch application. And, honestly - with a little bit of cut and past or a quick little VBScript (imagine a dir into a text file, read in line by line, append the -z -m, write out to a new text file with the requisite pre-pending lines) this goes pretty quick. The biggest pain - determining which patches CAN be applied with QChain and which have to be applied singly. However - either way, it's necessary and not as daunting as it first looks. -rtk _____ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Noah Eiger Sent: Tuesday, February 22, 2005 3:49 PM To: ActiveDir@mail.activedir.org Subject: [ActiveDir] Updates without SUS/WUS Hi - We have a test environment that is not connected to the Internet. I would like to update these servers but do not have WUS/SUS. One of our admins, downloaded the individual files. Is there a way to easily run these all at once? I have seen KB 296861 but frankly populating the script seems more tedious than running the updates manually (provided I'm not the one running them ;-) Thanks. -- nme
