You can first take ownership and reset the permissioning and after doing
that you can give away the ownership the same way like taking ownership!
To give away ownership to someone else you need full control permissions AND
the user right "restore files and directories" on the particular server

Subject: [ActiveDir] Folder Permissions

Hi -

I am trying to reset the permissions for a home directory. The
directories are created and redirected by GPO; the security specified as
in Microsoft KB 274443. The owner of this directory also has a separate
administrator account. He used his admin rights to get into console on
the file server, take ownership of his standard account home directory,
and then change some files. Now his offline file synchronization is all
screwed up.

I would like to reset the permissions on his home directory/My Documents
so that his standard account is the owner and has full and exclusive
rights. However, I can't reset the permissions without taking ownership
myself. I seem to be caught in a chicken-and-egg situation.

And, yes, the user is the Executive Director of this organization.

Any suggestions appreciated.
