Dean, My process (and I highly suspect that Brain’s will be the same) is that I have a base MEMBER SERVER image of Standard and Enterprise under our VLK (well, this would all be past tense now, I guess…).  I deploy the base image of the selected version out to a system, then add feature from there.  Add IIS for Web or Exchange, create added volumes as needed.  One step on an imaged system would be to DCPromo that system to DC status.
