That won't work, since the restricted groups setting is under the Computer Config part of the GPO.

Open up the GPO properties and in the security tab add the Helpdesk group.  Give them read and apply group policy for that policy.  remove apply group policy from any other group you do not want to get the policy, I.E. Authenticated Users.

How would I utilize Restriced Groups in a GPO to add in a Helpdesk Group that I have for my helpdesk staff to have administrative rights on a local PC with out having to touch each PC and without screwing up the local admin group?
