There is only DynamicSiteName which shows the new site.

Is the site name maybe hardcoded in the registry?

Have a look at

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters

See if there is a value for SiteName

Subject: [ActiveDir] Wrong Logonserver

Hi –

I have a single XP Pro SP2 client that recently moved to a new site. The user was having trouble logging on. Upon investigation, he was authenticating to a remote DC. He can log on correctly to a different computer at the new site; other users logging on to his computer get the remote DC. No other computer has had this issue. The following appear correct: DNS on his machine, DNS on the local and remote DC’s, placement of the GC (both DC’s are GC). His workstation correctly sees that it is in the new site.

I have disjoined and rejoined the machine, deleting the computer object from AD in the process. I also removed all records in DNS and DHCP leases prior to rejoining. Still, no love. I have tried to reset it using NLTEST. At the command:

Nltest /sc_reset:domain\newDC

I get an error:

Status = 1311 0x51f ERROR_NO_LOGON_SERVERS

When I use NLTEST to verify and query, things are clean but pointing to the remote DC.

I am a bit at a loss at this point.

TIA:

P.S. Sorry for all of the questions to the list recently. Responses are greatly appreciated.
