thanks to Hunter leaving out the smiley I've had a few requests now if my house
is ok :-))

this was all about Dean's great ways of comparing AD technology to real life -
my house burning down was used in comparison to how AD treated objects that
were created on one DC, while the parent OU they belonged to was deleted on
another DC at roughly the same time (prior to replication to occur). Some
admins would like to see the new object be deleted as well after it has
replicated to other DCs since the parent OU was now gone... But Dean compared
it to me leaving work at 11am and then returning after a full day work, i.e.
2:30 pm ;-) while in the meantime my house had burned down. Should the police
now shoot me after they found out I belonged into the house? Or should they
put me in a "Lost and Found" container? I'm glad Dean vouched for the latter
;-)

Certainly the whole Joe and Dean show was a great highligh - and I don't only
want to speak of Dean here who is certainly a perfect mix of a superb technical
guy and an actor. Joe, who's not used to present in front of a crowd of
people, did an excellent job as well and I'd say it the two that makes the
session so special. Definitely a highlight for this and any upcoming DEC!

I'd certainly vouch for the idea of having them do the pre-conf workshop - I've
had way too much work with it. Although it was still good to do it. And if this
was in a chartered air-plane to Sydney, I'd certainly be there as well - even
if I'd first have to fly in from Germany ;-)

All in all - congrads to Gil and the whole team at NetPro (especially Stella
and Christine) for pulling off another great conference. It was great
participating and collaborating with many of the folks who attended - hope to
see you all next year!

/Guido

Dean and Joe ended up doing 2 sessions. I think they were on track to
get it all covered in 1 session until Guido's house burned down. At any
rate, both were excellent and probably the best of DEC. They're spinning
up a website and some or all of the session content will probably end up
there. They may be posting details about the site, but I didn't ask how
widely they intend to publicize it.

Sounds great. Sorry I missed it. How was the Dean 'n Joe show? Did
the handbags come out or was it a peaceable affair?

Just wrapped up Day 3. 530 people. General consensus is that it was the
best DEC ever. More to follow when I can type on something bigger than a
credit card.

Maybe we should ask a question on the merits of doubling down on an 11
when the dealer has a face card showing... :-)
