That's not tied to DNS or even AD, per se, as it's the older NetBIOS name browsing mechanism that's been around for many years and has slowly (too slowly, imo) been depreciated. The fact you're not seeing all computers could be because not every computer has the Computer Browser service running, there could be browser election issues, connectivity between those segments and the PDCE could be unavailable, etc. I'm a big fan of disabling that service as often as possible. If you're insistent on trying to use it try looking in the Resource Kit for some computer browser tools.
