Thanks for the info. I’m looking at upgrading my DC’s from 2003 sp1 to R2. Steve Linehan’s instructions are very helpful.

I fixed this issue with ldp and Steve Linehan’s instructions to the list about two weeks ago.  Microsoft supposedly has an “unofficial” patch to fix this issue.  Talk to your TAM.

All of the issues I have heard of around R2 ForestPrep have been around the mangling of the SFU attributes that has been discussed here.

 

I am not sure why MSFT is acting surprised about it. Aric Bernard (from the list here) encountered it and told them about it in the beta groups a long long time ago.

You need to run forestprep from the R2 CD on your schema master.
