Hi Peter,

I had this exact same problem yesterday. You can fix this by using
the ActiveMQ 4.0 final release candidate build. Hiram posted the scoop
on the new release yesterday.

Standalone: http://people.apache.org/~chirino/incubator-activemq-4.0/
Source:
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/activemq/tags/activemq-4.0/activemq/

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Rob.

Here is the scoop!

Hi folks,

I think that the 4.0 release has been cooking long enough and we
should do a 4.0 final release before Java 1. Since that last RC3
build, numerous small bugs and memory leaks have been tightened up.
Also LICENSE files for the 3rd party dependencies have been added to
the distribution. To get us rolling this finally release, I've cut a
release candidate for the 4.0 final binary. You can get it here:
http://people.apache.org/~chirino/incubator-activemq-4.0/
distributions/
The source used to build it has been tagged here:
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/activemq/tags/
activemq-4.0/activemq/

Please take a moment and checkout this binary. If any issues are
found I'll redo the build and post it again for review. If no issues
are found, we can start a vote.

All,

I am trying to evaluate ActiveMQ for use in a mixed platform, mixed language
environment. I have downloaded the current snapshot of ActiveMQ server. The
java test producers and consumers are working well.

However, using the activemq-dotnet openwire test code is causing me a
headache. I have checked out and built the current code (revision 399687,
according to svn). The code compiles fine in VS 2005 Express. When I run it
I get

RECEIVED:
ERROR: Unknown command:
RECEIVED:
ERROR: Unknown command:

on the console as the session is created. The TestMain object then appears
not to receive further messages.

My question is, how can I be sure that the version of activemq-dotnet I have
is suitable for use with the ActiveMQ server snapshot I downloaded
yesterday? Is there a pair of builds that are known to work together?

Thanks,
Peter Walls
