For clarity -

1. which version of ActiveMQ are you using ?
2. Is this all running on your local box ?
3. If not - and you have one or most brokers running on your message center - does your network permit multicast ? - and if so is your machine and the data center all on the same lan ?

cheers,

Rob

thanks for your reply!
i run activemq in pure ipv6 environment.
os: windows xp
jdk:jdk1.5.0_06

start activemq successfully if i comment the multicast in activemq.xml such
as :
    <transportConnectors>
<!--<transportConnector name="default" uri="tcp://localhost: 61616"
discoveryUri="multicast://default"/>-->
<transportConnector name="stomp" uri="stomp://localhost: 61613"/>
    </transportConnectors>

    <networkConnectors>
      <!-- by default just auto discover the other brokers -->
      <!--
      <networkConnector name="default" uri="multicast://default"/>
      -->
        <!--
      <networkConnector name="host1 and host2"
uri="static://(tcp://host1:61616,tcp://host2:61616)" failover="true"/>
       -->
    </networkConnectors>

message client url set as:
url=tcp://cbq:61616 //cbq is my hostname
or
url=tcp://[::1]:61616
or
url=tcp://[fe80::215:58ff:fe0b:ede2]:61616

all these set can't help me to send or receive message from message center.
the error  is  :
Caught: Could not connect to broker URL: tcp://cbq:61616. Reason:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect

How about this?

ipv6 support has been transparent to Java since version 1.4 JRE - so
no change is necessary for either the broker or the Java clients. Not
sure about other language clients though
