This is 4.0.1 with the default config ( just running as  ./bin/activemq )
running under the ibm jdk on linux 2.6.

Probably - your best bet is to watch the JVM in JConsole to see how
much RAM is really being used - its easy to get confused with the GC
stuff using ps.
