If isCompressed() returns false then it looks like compression isn't
being set properly

isCompressed() always returns false.
I find it hard to believe that compression is working, as when I
gzip the
file before sending it goes off MUCH faster.
Also takes much less space on the queue.
Looks like compression could do with a tad more documentation.
