Yes, it can affect XML::Simple too if you use it with XML::Parser.
It is somewhat complicated, and affects regular expressions testing
against Unicode data.
Please try to use ActivePerl 5.8.7 with PDK 6.0.1. Any problem that
still persists with that combination should be reported so it can
get fixed. :)
