I think the term you are looking for is "code obfuscation". On the
other hand, have you considered just using an Open Source or GPL license
for your code?

Oh yes, but Java can be crypted... I mean not crypted, there is another term
for that kind of code manipulation for not allowing others to get it.
I think I understand why the guys from ActiveState don't answer these
questions.
The source code is protected only by hiding it, so if a bad guy finds out
more about how they protect it, he can unprotect many programs and then the
value of this protection system is zero.
However, I would be very happy if I could at least rename the .dll files
which are created.... but thinking better, a good cracker could find what
programming language is used...

I think your question has been asked periodically, and it seems that
there are no good answers available to date. All of us product people
have the same concerns.
If it is any consolation to you, Java is just as easy to decompile. I've
seen my guys do it before me.

Hi,
I want to create Windows executables with perlapp and distribute them to
others.
I heard that the code is "somehow protected" but what does this mean?
How hard is to break that protection and find the code?
Is the code kept in memory from where it can be dumped? Can it be found
in
clear there?
If yes, is it possible at least to put the file perl58.dll separately
(not
in the executable), but to make it have another name like guilib32.dll or
something randomly chosen, for not letting the others that the program is
made in Perl?
Or do you have another "code security tips"?
Thank you.
