Im planning to sell software, and think protect it by the "old dogling", sorry i dont remember the term, i mean that the program only run in one machine, find that the only more unique hardware id was the MAC address, and almost every pc has one, and less propense to change than HDD, memory, processor, etc.
I read a lot, here i find lot that tell use commands (ipconfig, nbtstat, arp) in cpan found only one module that gives the MAC (and it use ipconfig or ifconfig). The problem is that in all the reading, i found that the MAC that show all this programs can be changed, with free tools over the web. So im asking if is there a module that can get the MAC from the hardware, firmware. Or a executable. Or a script, or I/O. Or if anyone knows how windows retriew it from hardware, what dll, systemcall, ect. Any help apreciated, im against the wall THK Ulises __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
