Because pyppm is based on distutils, I would have guessed this.

Fine.
It would be nice, however, if the xml-file would contain _some_
info about where the package has been installed and which files
it contains. I'm still wondering about 'pyperl', which I installed
by accident, and do not find anymore.
Oh well, maybe I should reinstall it, pipe pyppm's output into
a file and read this ;-)
