I recently downloaded and installed activepython. I need to install the packages Numeric, PIL, and wxpython. However, when I type install Numeric PIL wxpython at the PPM prompt in the package manager it first asks me if I want to install that package to which I reply yes, then it says installing wxpython, Connecting to SOAP server ActiveState Package Repository... and then I get an error message that reads can not reach server. I am connecting over a modem from a home computer using AOL 5.0. I tryed editing my autoexec.bat file with the setproxy stuff but I don't know what proxy number to put in or even if I'm using a proxy. I have also tried to manually download the files and .ppd's from the site but I get an error message that says can not copy file, error(1026). I have looked through the mailing lists and can't seem to find anything that matches my problem. I am operating under windows 98. I would apprectiate any help you can give me.
