I tried to submit this as a bug report as instructed below, but although

When I tried to use PyPPM to download soaplib, this is what I got (it
looks as if some of the standard Python library methods for producing
the canonical form of a path might be useful here):

[NB: I searched in the bug database but didn't find any record of this
problem.]
