Just curious, I am very fond of Perl Dev kit and what it does for Perl
on Windows.  As for customer demand, add me to the demanding customer
list ;-)

Some of the functionality of the Perl Dev Kit is available as open
source 
software -- e.g. Gordon McMillan's Installer and py2exe.  Some isn't.
Doing a 
Python Dev Kit is something we think about, and would do should there be

enough customer demand.
