Folks, I've taken a deeper look into the code and gone into actionpack's code base as well. Here's what I think is the problem.
In active_scaffold/lib/extensions/generic_view_paths.rb, we have some "pick_template" logic. In the earlier version of AS (rails 2.1 branch), the search in generic view paths took place only when controller.class.action_methods.include?(controller.action_name) was true. So when :delete was explicitly excluded, the delete.rhtml in the active_scaffold/frontends/default/views did not get rendered. In the rails 2.2 branch, this kind of check is missing. Therefore, the delete rhtml is rendered even after explicitly excluding it. I need some help in moving further. Can someone independently validate my analysis? Also is this a bug or a desired behaviour?
