Hello all,

For the last few days or so I've been battling with the problem of how
to break up a subform (that's normally displayed horizontally and runs
off over the page, causing the user to need to scroll horizontally)
into some sort of more readable format - probably just a vertical list
of fields. I have a Companies model which has_many Contacts and I need
to be able to edit the Contacts within a Company without horizontal
scrolling.

The added difficulty is that I need to get this to work in both
firefox and IE 6 (I wish we could dictate to our customers that they
should just use Forefox - but we can't).

Now I've searched and searched the forums and found two main promising
ways to do this:

1) override the css to change the table rows to display as blocks
rather than inline - trouble is this only displays properly on Firefox
and doesn't seem to work on IE -I have no idea why and I'm not a CSS
Guru.

2) override subform for the contacts view. I tried this by coppying
and modifying the plugin code and by using provided code from the
forums but couldn't get it to display properly either and it looks far
too complicated for such a newbie as me.

Can anyone offer any assistance with this please? Either a css that
works for both browsers or a simple bit of code to override the
subform display that works properly?

Many thanks.
