no, just use it like most rails 3.x gems with assets:

add to app/assets/javascripts/application.js
//= require active_scaffold

and add to app/assets/stylesheets/application.css (or whatever format
appears "application" file there)
//= require active_scaffold

and that's it!

remember to include jquery there. i'm not really sure if prototype is still
supported...
