Hi Jo Ann,

Woven within our
whistleblower<http://policy.ku.edu/internal-audit/whistleblower-policy>,
grievance and conflict resolution policies are statements about the prohibition
of retaliation. The conflict resolution
section<http://policy.ku.edu/governance/USRR#art6sect1> of our University
Senate Rules & Regulations states:
6.1.3 Prohibition of Retaliation. No person shall be subjected to discharge,
suspension, discipline, harassment, or any form of discrimination for having
utilized or having assisted others in the utilization of grievance procedures.
Provided, however, that sanctions for a pattern of frivolous and abusive
grievances may be imposed under USRR 6.5.4.

Also, the following text appears at the bottom of every KU webpage, it is part
of our content management system template:
The University of Kansas prohibits
discrimination<https://documents.ku.edu/policies/IOA/Nondiscrimination.htm> on
the basis of race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, national origin, age,
ancestry, disability, status as a veteran, sexual orientation, marital status,
parental status, retaliation, gender identity, gender expression and genetic
information in the University's programs and activities. The following person
has been designated to handle inquiries regarding the non-discrimination
policies and is the University's Title IX Coordinator: the Executive Director
of the Office of Institutional Opportunity and Access,
i...@ku.edu<mailto:i...@ku.edu>, 1246 W. Campus Road, Room 153A, Lawrence, KS,
66045, (785)864-6414, 711 TTY.

I hope this is helpful,
Amy

Subject: [acupa-l] Non-Retaliation Language on Each Policy

ACUPA Colleagues:

We are considering adding a non-retaliation clause at the bottom of every
University policy going forward. Do any of your institutions adhere to this
practice? And if so, have you had positive/successful feedback? Thanks in
advance for your commentaries.
