Call for Proposals 2018 ACUPA/WACUBO Joint Conference April 29 - May 2, 2018 | Anaheim, Calif. It's not too late! Submit your proposal by 9 a.m. (CST) Friday, Sept. 15. Online submission form<http://acupa.site-ym.com/?page=ACUPA2018Proposal> ACUPA invites proposals that reflect specific and trending policy topics for the 2018 joint conference with WACUBO (Western Association of College and University Business Officers). Discounts for Presenters In ACUPA's agreement with WACUBO, speakers receive a $275 discount on registration or a complimentary one-day registration for the day they are speaking. For group presentations, discounts will apply to two individuals only (selection to be made by the presenting group). Suggested Topics Proposals that will enrich participants with practical knowledge are encouraged. Some examples include, but are not limited to: * Current policy issues (e.g., institutional culture; conflict of interest/commitment; sanctuary campus protections; faculty workload; pledging, hazing and bullying; service/emotional support animals; free speech and peaceful assembly) * Best practices (e.g., writing effective policies, faculty participation in policy development, ongoing policy review, drafting gender neutral policies) * Professional knowledge (e.g., defending policy during litigation, regulations every policy administrator needs to know) * Direct tie to business-related functions/connection to WACUBO (e.g., auditing university policy, matching policy function to financial reporting, HR and policy development, delegations of authority and obligating the institution) Presentation Structure Presentations may be solo, duo, panel, structured round table discussions or another format described in detail in the proposal. We welcome concurrent session proposals (35-minute and 75-minute formats) and pre-conference workshop proposals (30-min., 1-hour, 1.5-hour and 3-hour formats). Joint presentations featuring representatives/perspectives from different institutions and/or ACUPA and WACUBO members are encouraged. * Use ACUPA's online forum tool<http://acupa.site-ym.com/forums/Default.aspx> to connect with other ACUPA members interested in presenting at the conference (e.g., put forth two complimentary 35-minute high impact presentations that can be paired in a 75-minute session). * ACUPA members whose institutions are members of WACUBO should consider presenting topics with your institution's respective WACUBO member(s) (e.g., policy office/manager with institution's auditor or HR director).
